Kristin DietzKristin Dietz, CPA

Kristin has had the pleasure of working with California charter schools for more than 15 years. She has an extensive background in the training and management of accounting systems and procedures. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge in 1992, Kristin spent 10 years in public accounting. As a partner of a local accounting firm, she planned and performed audits and provided financial reporting and planning services for small businesses, charter schools and nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles. Her accounting firm was one of the first to participate in the audits of charter schools in Southern California.

Kristin DietzPaul Khoury, Vice President of Finance

Paul brings real world business experience to the charter school world. Having graduated from St. Mary’s college with a B.S. in Business and a B.A. in Liberal Arts/Economics, Paul set out to change the world for the better. After dabbling in several personal endeavors during his early 20′s, Paul eventually settled down into the business world starting as a financial manager for Graybar Electric Co. Here he managed the credit activities through north eastern California and North West Nevada. After 4 years he had an opportunity to join Princess Cruises in their Accounting Department, moving from A/R manager to Revenue Accounting manager and on to General Accounting Manager. It was at Princess Cruises where he met Kristin Dietz, which would later lead to his rewarding work at CharterWorks. After Princess Cruises, Paul became the Director of Accounting at Warner Music Group, a division of Time Warner. Deciding he wanted to make more of a contribution to the “real work” being done in America, he left Time Warner to become the controller at InterPrint LLC, a $16 million commercial printing company with 100 employees. Having helped manage InterPrint through the current economic downturn and managing their cash flow in a challenging environment, Paul left to join Kristin at CharterWorks. In their discussions, both Paul and Kristin agreed that this real world, common sense business experience would be very valuable in helping Charter Schools manage their way through challenging economic times. Moreover, they would be able to relieve them of the day to day rigors of managing their cash and maintaining finance and accounting activities, thereby allowing them to concentrate on what was most important to them – Educating the future of America!
